The St. Paul’s Vestry is pleased to announce that, by unanimous decision, we have selected The Reverend Marisa Egerstrom as our new Priest-in-Charge. Marisa will be coming to us from St. Stephen’s Church in Boston and we are anticipating September 10th to be her first Sunday with us.
The transition ministry process has been a long and interesting challenge for all of us at St. Paul’s and the Vestry is confident that the decision to select Marisa will prove to be an asset to our church. Marisa is a newly ordained minister who is excited about coming to Holyoke and getting acquainted with all of us. She will bring to St. Paul’s some very positive energy and some new ideas. She plans to move into the Rectory in September.
Following Reverend Barbara’s last service with us on Sunday, June 25th, at 10:00 a.m., we will begin our “summer” services on Sunday, July 2nd, with one service at 9:00 a.m. The Reverend Canon Rich Simpson from the Diocese, who guided our Vestry during the transition process, will be preaching on that date. For the remainder of the summer, Father John Hooker, who many of you may remember as the minister who led our services during Reverend Barbara’s sabbatical, will be with us.
Thanks to our Vestry, the Profile Committee, the Long Range Planning Committee, and the parishioners who worked so hard updating our Facebook page. (The Priest-in-Charge candidates used these resources to “check us out” while we were checking them out!) Thanks to all of you for being patient and trusting your Vestry to work through the steps of the process in order to bring the right candidate to St. Paul’s. Your faith in us meant more than you could imagine.
The opportunity for new possibilities await us at St. Paul’s! I hope that all of you are as excited as I am about what lies ahead and the opportunity to greet Marisa and welcome her to her new home with us at St. Paul’s. Diane Lessard, Senior Warden
